For one of my other classes, I've been researching and reading into Osama bin Laden and all the rhetoric he was talking before 9/11 was even a thought. He had multiple interviews and public speaking opportunities talking about the United States being the enemy of Islam. Osama bin Laden was in the Taliband which was funded by the CIA and later al-Qaeda broke off from the Taliband. So in a way the CIA funded Osama bin laden which is crazy.
But the more interesting part was the 9/11 commission report that was released a few years after 9/11. It was an official investigation of 9/11 and had many different reports and investigations all baked into one. It was just interesting to see what the gold standard was for federal investigations, I may never see one like the 9/11 commission report.
Especially with it being back in the day of 2001-2003, it must've took a lot of manpower and time to compile all the evidence and searching data archives for Osama bin Laden interview videos or anything like those. I imagine it would be a nightmare to watch hours and hours of film looking for Osama bin Laden. Any ways, thanks for coming to my TED talk.
This made me think of a book I just read. It was about a child abduction that took place in the early 1990s - before we had centralized fingerprint databases. It was shocking how far crime investigation has come in my lifetime.
